- County-Based Perinatal Network
Sub-Councils
Family Ties Network four Sub-Councils
are groups of health and social service providers and consumers in Cayuga,
Madison, Onondaga, and Oswego Counties.
- Each Sub Council meets quarterly to work
toward:
- Improved knowledge about perinatal health
issues and services among health & human service providers and
consumers
- Increased communication among agencies to
improve consumers’ access to services and resources
- Collaboration on projects and advocacy to address the needs of
pre-conceptional, pregnant women, and their families
- Sharing of challenges, and
successes
Meetings often include presentations addressing specific priorities
including: access to care, quality of care, program development, best
practices, prematurity, behavioral concerns including mental health, HIV,
domestic violence, adolescent births and pregnancies, sexually transmitted
infections, and other topics to help providers improve and coordinate services
to meet consumer needs.
